Thursday - Students make predictions about what they expect to find and how long each item may take to decompose.

Students interact with a hands-on simulation activity, where each material reveals information about its decomposition rate.
In student notebooks, students reflect on the following questions. What patterns did you notice? What surprised you the most? What changes occurred over time with the apple? What further predictions do you have about the apple?
Revisit rotting apple
Students take a picture of the apple. How much has the apple decayed. What environmental factors would help to slow down or speed up the decaying process?
Friday - Engage Environmental Changes Slideshow Spanish
It’s Up For Debate
Students are divided into “Ranch Owners” and “Park Rangers”. Each side will brainstorm reasons that support their position on the video “Wolves of Yellowstone” they just viewed. Using the Kagan structure Spend -A-Buck and the Student template Spend Buck, students will prioritize their top three reasons. Then, each side will share their argument (opening statement, 3 reasons, closing statement) top three reasons.
Exit Ticket: After hearing the opposing argument, how did your perspective change?
